Trust & safety
Built around privacy and clear disclosure
21ST AURA is designed with New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 principles in mind: collect only what the service needs, keep it private by default, and give people control over their own information.
Private contact details
Listings never show personal phone numbers, private email addresses or home addresses. Buyers and sellers talk through platform messaging until they choose to share more.
Traders and private sellers
Every listing is badged as a trader or private sale. Traders supply Consumer Information Notice details before their listing can be published.
Mandatory disclosures
Damage, finance owing, WOF expiry, registration expiry, condition notes and service history are structured fields on every listing.
Reporting
Any listing or user can be reported with a reason and supporting detail. Reports are confidential and go to the moderation queue.
Audit logging
Sensitive moderation actions — suspending, archiving, resolving reports — are recorded with who did what and when.
Least privilege access
People can only reach their own account data, their own favourites, and conversations they take part in. Nobody can grant themselves staff access.
Staying safe when you buy
- Always view the vehicle in person, in daylight, at a public or business address.
- Check the odometer, WOF and registration against the listing details.
- Run your own security interest check before paying any money.
- Never pay a deposit to someone who refuses an in-person viewing.
- Keep your conversation on 21ST AURA so there is a record of what was agreed.
Staying safe when you sell
- Disclose damage and any money owing — it protects you as much as the buyer.
- Meet buyers in a public place and take someone with you for test drives.
- Confirm cleared funds before handing over the keys or signing anything.
- Do not share identity documents through messaging.
- Report anyone who pressures you into an off-platform payment arrangement.
